Saint Thomas Aquinas was an influential philosopher and theologian of the 13th century.

Born in 1225 into a noble family in the Kingdom of Sicily, present-day Italy, Tomás studied at the University of Naples and later in Paris, where he became a disciple of Albertus Magnus.

His most famous writings include the 'Summa Theologica' and the 'Summa contra Gentiles', works that address topics of theology, philosophy, and ethics.

His ideas integrated Aristotelian philosophy with Christian theology, and his rational and systematic approach deeply influenced Western philosophy.

Santo Tomás de Aquino passed away in 1274, and in 1323 he was canonized by Pope John XXII.

His legacy endures to this day, and he is considered one of the greatest thinkers of the Middle Ages..
