Robert Burton

Robert Burton was an English writer and clergyman born in 1577.

He is primarily known for his work 'The Anatomy of Melancholy', published in 1621, which is an extensive exploration of depression and melancholy.

Burton spent much of his life at Christ Church College in Oxford, where he served as a librarian.
