Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra was a Spanish novelist, poet, and playwright, primarily known for his masterpiece 'Don Quixote'.

He was born in 1547 in Alcalá de Henares, Spain, and passed away in 1616 in Madrid.

Cervantes led an adventurous life and participated in the Battle of Lepanto in 1571, where he was wounded and lost the use of his left hand.

After facing several financial difficulties, Cervantes managed to publish the first part of 'Don Quixote' in 1605, followed by the second part in 1615.

His literary genius and his ability to explore the human condition make him one of the most prominent figures in Spanish and world literature..
