Jean de Monet

Jean-Baptiste Pierre Antoine de Monet, Caballero de Lamarck, was a French biologist and naturalist born on August 1, 1744.

He is known for his pioneering work in the theory of evolution.

Lamarck proposed the idea of the inheritance of acquired characteristics, which claimed that organisms could acquire traits during their lifetime and then pass them on to their offspring.
